Bright next to the field made it easy to get
nice brittle paint very close to your game, and
there were more than enough bathrooms
and food tents to host the record 65 teams
that attended! One of my favorite parts was
the commentator scaffolding, towering 60
feet above the field and giving those of us
who spectated the premier field
matches a surreal view over the
entire venue and a lot of the city
on all sides.
The first morning we’re off to the
field leaving behind the beautiful
hotel 4 km down the road. I am
fortunate enough to play with
Scorpions Legacy in Division 3
and end up making great friends
with this team. They are some
of the most kind, generous, yet
crazy characters I’ve ever met. We
played four preliminary games,
winning three and tying one. I
must say, the completion level
is actually relatively similar to
D3 in the U.S. These players are

fierce competitors but what I love is the
sportsmanship and camaraderie off the field!
Once the game was over it was all smiles,
laughs, stories… I went to play paintball,
explore the country and help a team learn
and win. But it became so much more than
that.
