There’s a camping ground in Calverton,
Long Island near a huge paintball field
that began filling up on Friday, June 2nd,
2017. There were campers, vehicles, tents,
canopies, setup tables, bbq grills and oh
yeah, excited paintball troops. Players
from all over the tri-state as well as other
states flocked to Cousins Paintball in
Calverton, New York to play the biggest
game on the East Coast, Cousins Big
Game. I got there a little late on Friday
but I was glad to see how many people
had set-up on that day. I parked my car
and started making rounds to talk with my
troops and get them motivated for the
next day as well as giving assignments. I
Raul Perez aka Omega, head of 1ST Recon
paintball team, was designated to be the
Red Side XO and paintball magnate Greg
“Red” Hastings was designated as the
General. Being both Military Veterans, we
love strategizing. Having only met once
before, we haven’t spoken much up to
that day. We decided to meet early Sat
morning for a battle planning session.
Our Opposing General and Xo were
general Andre “Wolf” Clitchlow and Joe
“Outkast” Perez respectively. So we knew
we were up against worthy opponents.
Cousins Big Game is a huge 2000 player,
insane scenario war game! We’re talking
two days of non-stop hectic battle,
paintballs flying everywhere, smoke
grenades blanketing multiple portions
of fields, tanks, launchers, great bunker
layouts, fortress battles, hills, more
bunkers, motivated players, paintball
teams leading charges and one hell of a
fun time that you couldn’t believe. This is
an Epic game of chess and strategy on a
huge field filled with plenty of angles.
