For the past 8 years I have been developing my
platform and am currently working with several
national and international autism organizations
Sherelle- I volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center, men-
toring mothers of all ages. I also work with parents and
educate them on car seat safety and crib safety. Over
the last 2 years I’ve been able to donate over $6000
in brand new car seats and cribs for children in our
community.
My daughter Maggie’s platform fits in with mine we
are kind of a little team. She has been sewing bibs for
the last 4 years and donating them to the center, and
several other locations in our community. She started
when she turned 12 after receiving a sewing machine
as a gift and Blessings for Babies was born.
Together the two of us have volunteered with several
other organizations in our community. We enjoy get-
ting to do this as a team and our mother/daughter
bond has grown because of pageantry.
Being a role model for both of my kids and setting a
legacy of volunteerism is important. It’s also important
to me to give back to my community. We live in a very
rural area where resources are limited, and the near-
est Walmart is an hour away. Parents need to know
there is a safe place they can come to receive a car
seat or crib and be educated about it for free.
I am unique as I live my platform every day!
