P ageant fundraising can be a challenge for anyone. Here are a few tips to get you started, the key to fundraising is to pick an idea and get started. Are you a singer, dancer, play an instrument? This is a great way to earn money for your pageant and practice your talent. Sing the national anthem at a local game, play the piano at a restaurant. Its a great way to local community exposure as well. Offer sponsors the opportunity to earn some extra exposure. If they donate an extra $50 you will do 5 social media posts (they can write it) to help promote their business to your followers. Get one Sponsor to cover it all! Offer a sponsor thank you party to be thrown by you at their location after the pageant. You will invite everyone you know, friends, family other businesses, shoot for at least 40 people in attendance. Factor in $100 to purchase a cake, refreshments, etc. You can do a quick speech thanking your sponsor and they can take a minute to tell everyone about their business and do a giveaway if they’d like, or hand out coupons. Its a great way for the business to generate new walk in traffic. Do a guest appearance even though you don’t have a title. Showcase your platform, educate others on why you chose it and why its so important to you. This is a great opportunity for donations. . If you are an expert on a subject, this is your time to get up and talk about it…and get paid! Ask a local group if you can be a guest speaker, even the local libraries have a small budget for this. If you choose to do this, make sure you have at least 12 high resolution photos, and start taking orders before you reach out to a printer. Sell each month thanking the person or business that purchased it on the same month. Make sure you factor the cost of the printing and delivery into the cost as well. You can do the same idea with Promo items, put your picture on a coffee mug, t-shirt, mouse pad, etc. Again, make sure you get orders from everyone beforehand and factor in the costs.
