Our parent panel share what working arrangements they made after their children were born.
“STAYING HOME WITH MY GIRLS
WAS THE BEST DECISION”
“With my first daughter I returned
to work part-time and she went to
a university nursery. I thought that
this was the best option as nurseries
encourage sociability and aren’t too
expensive. However, I didn’t really
want to return to work and hated
leaving her there. I soon became
pregnant again and when my second
daughter was born she went to the
same nursery. Both children were
there for a very short time but when
we had a problem with the nursery
and the care provided we took them
both out and I have stayed at home
with them since. This was the best
decision for all of us; my only regret
is that I didn’t do it from the start”.
