Joseph Young
Assistant Conductor of
the Atlanta Symphony
and Music Director of
the Atlanta Symphony
Youth Orchestra since 2014, Joseph Young
is increasingly recognized as “one of the
most gifted conductors of his generation.”
Mr. Young is also the recipient of the 2015
Sir Georg Solti Foundation Career Assistance Award for young conductors.
In 2007–2009, by the invitation of Music Director Marin Alsop, Mr. Young made
his professional debut as the first recipient
of the Baltimore Symphony OrchestraPeabody Institute Conducting Fellowship.
Born in Charleston, SC, he completed
graduate studies with Gustav Meier and
Markand Thakar at the Peabody Conservatory in 2009, earning an artist diploma
in conducting.

Leon Fleisher
At 87 years young,
legendary pianist
Leon Fleisher continues to impart his lifeaffirming artistry throughout the world,
thriving in a sustained career as conductor
and soloist, recitalist, chamber music artist
and master class mentor.
His recordings are available on many
labels, including Sony, DG, Vanguard,
Albany, Orfeo, and Archipel. Mr. Fleisher
holds numerous honors including the Johns
Hopkins University President’s Medal and
honorary doctorates from many national
conservatories and institutes. He received
the 2007 Kennedy Center Honors for his
contribution to U.S. culture.
