Her love for music came early, learning to play the clarinet in the third grade, and also singing in her church, high school and college choirs. Her career took her to Washington, D.C ., where it became convenient to attend concerts at the Kennedy Center. Denise did not become a loyal BSO attendee until she started traveling on a regular basis for work and began to attend concerts to decompress at the end of the week. As a result, Denise then became a season subscription holder, and is a now the chair of the Governing Members Executive Committee. She enjoys the music, and has also enjoyed getting to know the many patrons and musicians along with gaining an appreciation for the many community initiatives the BSO supports, most of all OrchKids, the education program that promotes music for social change. Several years ago, Denise decided that in addition to her annual support of the BSO, she also wanted to help support its future as well. She has therefore included the BSO in her estate plans, as she believes that to give back to an organization that gives her pleasure is one of the best investments anyone can make – not only in the BSO, but also an investment in the community and the individuals who benefit from a world class orchestra. She considers the symphony a part of her family, so it has been very easy to extend this gift to the BSO. Make a Musical Difference in the Lives that Follow!
