THE INDUSTRIOUS WILLIAMS FAMILY Charles Williams came from RI to Center Saybrook c1700 with a knowledge of ironworking and established a grist mill. Charles Williams Samuel Williams (I) Charles and his son Samuel (I) expanded the facilities at Center Saybrook to include a sawmill and iron works including a trip hammer. David Williams Samuel (II) has 6 sons. After Samuel’s death in 1822, David took over operation of the shipyard Samuel Williams (I) Benjamin Williams Samuel (I) and his son Benjamin purchased and rebuilt the dam and associated facilities at Falls River Cove. Samuel Williams (II) Benjamin’s son, Samuel (II), expanded the facilities at Falls River Cove to include a shipyard and iron works. Ezra Williams Ezra developed a comb-cutting business near the grist mill Richard P. Williams A grandson Richard P.
