What will define us as we slow crawl back to life ( or something like it ) in the coming months ? Will we seek an urgent return to the experiences that we used to enjoy ? A return to “ business as usual ” and all it entails — travel , commuting , in-person meetings ? Or will we take what we ’ ve learned from the last year and apply it to our future selves — time with family , time at home , time for ourselves ? Probably a little bit of all of the above . Added to the mix will be an inclination towards being well . Wellness is a broadly defined and ever-swinging pendulum of behaviors ; it encompasses everything from high-end exercise equipment to a bottle of Vitamin D from the local pharmacy , luxury elixirs to chicken soup . But high end or low end , the past year has created a biological imperative towards being , and staying , well . Consumers will expect a sheen of wellness across all their experiences , and may even be willing to pay a premium for it . And , pent-up demand and a “ life is short ” mentality will drive self indulgent decisions and behaviors . 2021 could be the year of the Great Splurge . Is your brand prepared ? We can help .
