Three short years later the security of their meeting place became short lived. Woodbridge Township was going to improve their municipal marina and that would include moving the US Coast Guard Auxiliary trailer above ground as per Department of Environmental Protection (EPA) guidelines.

The flotilla had a ninety-nine year lease on the site and looked forward to the modernization of the area that they called home. Working closely with the Mayor John McCormac, Township Engineer Scot Thompson and the Public Works Director Dennis Henry, the new Flotilla Commander Dean Ferraro tasked George Reilly, David Gray, John Eberhardt, and Dave Ten Broeck to spearhead the project. The new marina would have a paved parking lot, modern restroom facilities, and upgraded electric. In addition, the trailer was to be raised 11 feet to compensate for any future water surge.

Shortly after starting the basic planning of lifting the trailer on to an elevated foundation a major structural flaw was discovered. One of the main support beams would not bear the strain of the lifting.

The team of George Reilly, David Gray, Jim Crincoli, Sal Ruggiero, John Eberhardt, and Dave Ten Broeck went back to work. Within weeks a used trailer 10 feet longer than the previous trailer was located and purchased with the last reserve in the flotilla's account. Immediately George Reilly opened up communication with the construction manager and David Gray set to make all needed repairs and upgrades to their new home. John Eberhardt dealt with the township officials, and Dave Ten Broeck worked diligently paying for the necessary repair and upgrade items while he closely watched the shrinking bottom line.

The trailer was outfitted, raised to its new base with full electric, running water, and for the first time, a restroom. On January 26, 2017 under the command of Flotilla Commander David Gray and Vice Flotilla Commander George Reilly United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 04-04 held its first meeting in its new home.
