N 11 JANUARY 2017, at the Staten
Island School of Civic Leader-
ship, in Graniteville, Staten Island, the Division 14 SO-PA, Jane Pride headed up a presentation of Marine Safety concerns to students and faculty of the school.
A display booth was set up in the school’s auditorium and featured a diorama constructed by Maggie Jung, FSO-MS, Flotilla 14-4, as well as a Marine Safety themed backdrop provided by Dan Pontecorvo, SO-MS, Division 14, a receptacle for used fishing line provided by George Lurye, FSO-MS, Flotilla 14-6, and Marine Safety related publications and children’s coloring books, provided by the division.
The main presenters during the lecture/display presentation were Dan Pontecorvo, Maggie Jung and George Lurye. The presentation started at 1500 hours and proceeded until 1600. A video presentation of “Inky the Whale,” provide by Dan Pontecorvo, closed out the session from 1545 to 1600.
