OUR MEMBERS of D1SR attended AUX-18 at the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute-CAMI,
Oklahoma City OK on April 24-26: Bob Dellon, Bob Talley, Eric Pearson, and Vince Matsui. The total class consisted of 14 AUXAIR Auxiliarists from around the country. D1SR was well represented - with others participants hailing from Hawaii to Puerto Rico.
Following a briefing Sunday evening from BA-RAF Jen Stack on the forthcoming program, the class retired to some fellowship over Oklahoma steak. On Monday morning at CAMI, we were trained in post-crash survivorship: 80% mental, 10% equipment, 10% know-how – a dull knife can help to cut off your trapped arm, if you are motivated!
Following lunch at the FAA cafeteria under the per diem, we proceeded to pool work in a heated pool (very nice) which included inflating partially inflated life jackets, group maneuvers in the
