N SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2018, the 8th Annual Veterans
Appreciation Day was celebrated at the Hugeunot Yacht Club,
New Rochelle, New York. The club honors local veterans and
welcomed 75 veterans for breakfast, a ride on Long Island Sound and lunch. Each year the Coast Guard from Kings Point and the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Divison 7, are invited to assist.
Robert Heinemann, DCDR Division 7, a member of the yacht club,
organized the Auxiliary and Kings Point participation. Kings Point Station crew with their 29 foot response boat, led the Captains from the
Yacht club into Long Island Sound with veterans aboard yacht club boats, for a two hour ride on the Sound. Pilar Rosell shared "the pride the Yacht club has is in giving back, and honoring the men and women who have given so much for our country".
