Coast Guard Day 2018

Sector New York

On August 3, 2018 a volunteer team of 11 local USCG Auxiliary Food Services members assisted the Sector New York Culinary Specialists for the celebration of Coast Guard Day. The team assisted in preparing and serving of over 450 meals to Coast Guardsmen and their families. After eating family members participated in outdoor activities and learned about the history of the area.

Coast Guard Day is celebrated annually to commemorate the founding of the United States Coast Guard, originally called the Revenue-Marine, on August 4, 1790 by Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton.
