When respondents were asked whether their OP had an environmental policy/statement
speaking to sustainability, those with such a policy believed more strongly than those
working for an OP without a policy that:
• Their university/college administration supports the OP operational decision-making
as it relates to pursuing environmentally sustainable practices
• Their immediate supervisor (such as director of university recreation) is supportive of
OP decision-making concerning the pursuit of environmentally sustainable practices
• Their staff pushes them to embrace operational sustainable practices
• Their university/college’s student body expects the OP to embrace
operational sustainable practices.
