BAYLOR HEART AND VASCULAR SERVICES AT FORT WORTH
More than 102 years of historic heart care at Baylor
Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort
Worth continues through a collaborative arrangement
with Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and
Vascular Hospital. Beginning in September of 2014,
Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital,
the first dedicated heart and vascular hospital in
North Texas to open in 2002, expanded oversight
of cardiovascular services to Baylor Scott &
White – Fort Worth. Baylor Hamilton Heart and
Vascular Hospital’s clinical leadership operates the
interventional cardiac services, electrophysiology
services, heart catheterization and electrophysiology
labs, including a hybrid procedural suite, as well as
the non-invasive cardiology services. All of these
services are located on the sixth floor of Building A at
Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth, a 574-bed, fully
accredited not-for-profit hospital with nearly 2,000
employees and more than 1,100 medical staff.
These cardiovascular services collectively provided are
known as Baylor Heart and Vascular Services at Fort
Worth. The cardiovascular services provided offer a
broad array of interventional cardiac procedures and
non-invasive diagnostic modalities. Cardiologists from
the greater Tarrant County area are on the medical
staff and extremely engaged in helping share the vision
for continued growth. With their guidance over the
past fiscal year, many “firsts” were celebrated and
programs were strengthened.
“This past fiscal year has been one of many milestones for
cardiovascular services in Fort Worth. We are proud of the
many firsts in Texas and firsts in the Fort Worth area that
occurred. It is through the strong engagement of the medical
staff and the dedicated team that the year had many significant
accomplishments. Overall, the collective efforts elevated the
level of cardiovascular care available in the communities served
by Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth,” says Nancy Vish, PhD,
RN, NEA-BC, President and Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor
Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital. “Additionally, in the
coming fiscal year, we look forward to continued expansion;
adding beds to meet the demand. We will also open the TAVR
program through our Valve Disorders Center with the help of a
multidisciplinary group of specialists on the medical staff who
have dedicated their time to this program’s launch.”
Mike Sanborn, President for Baylor Scott & White All Saints
Medical Center – Fort Worth says, “By all measures, we
have been very pleased with our collaboration with Baylor
Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital and the resulting
growth in our cardiovascular service line. It is exciting to see
so many healthcare professionals working synergistically to
bring advanced cardiovascular care to our community. This
collaboration has allowed Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth
to grow the entire service line and we now have the capability
to offer some of the most complex procedures to patients in the
Fort Worth area, in addition to providing them with access to
clinical trial enrollment. The relentless commitment to both
quality and service is shared by both organizations, and our
patients are the true benefactors.”
