Outcomes 2017 - Baylor Heart and Vascular Services FY2017 | Page 4

Striving for excellence in all that we do to care for our patients. Welcome to our outcomes book for fiscal year 2017. This book celebrates the past year’s successes by focusing on innovations in heart and vascular care. As you’ll read, the collaborative team of medical staff physicians, hospital leadership, volunteers, and all those who work at Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dallas and in Fort Worth demonstrate dedication to measurement in many ways. We are constantly pursuing improvement in the care we provide by benchmarking our performance against leading hospitals and programs throughout the country. Our steadfast commitment to our patients anchors our passion for excellence in all that we do. As a part of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest health care organization in Texas, we deliver quality cardiovascular services. In Dallas, with Baylor University Medical Center, we collaborate to remain nationally recognized and highly regarded for heart and vascular care, advanced heart failure treatment, and the cardiac surgery and heart transplantation programs. The history and tradition for heart and vascular care on the Baylor Dallas campus is rich with many examples of innovation and research involvement. This reputation brings patients from all over the globe to our doors. In Fort Worth, on the campus of Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center, we work closely with hospital leadership to provide continuity of care for all cardiology patients. This collaboration, as you will read, in fiscal year 2017, resulted in tremendous growth in non-invasive and interventional cardiology volumes. We also shared in the development of new cardiovascular programs and services for the communities in Tarrant County and the surrounding region. We greatly appreciate the engagement of the medical staff in Fort Worth to elevate the level of innovation in cardiovascular care. It was truly a tremendous year with many “firsts” in treatments and devices. In addition, this past fiscal year was a time that led us to celebrate the daily hard work and dedication to excellence by every team member as two major accomplishments were achieved. First, The Joint Commission surveyed the hospital; we received our re-accreditation. We have achieved Joint Commission accreditation since our opening as the first dedicated heart and vascular hospital in North Texas.
