A Awards and Accolades U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT – HIGH PERFORMING HOSPITAL In its 2017-18 “America’s Best Hospitals” list, U.S. News & World Report recognized Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital and rated the hospital as high performing in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair and Congestive Heart Failure. This year marks 25 consecutive years of Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas being ranked by U.S. News & World Report. Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas was ranked #2 in the Dallas metropolitan area and #3 in Texas. For cardiovascular services, Baylor Dallas was rated high performing in Aortic Valve Surgery, Heart Bypass Surgery, and Congestive Heart Failure. MISSION: LIFELINE ® – GOLD PLUS Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital has received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. 12 12 The American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline program’s goal is to reduce system barriers to prompt treatment for heart attacks, beginning with the 9-1-1 call and continuing through hospital treatment. Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital is recognized for having an 85 percent composite adherence and at least 24 consecutive months of 75 percent or higher compliance on all Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center quality measures to improve the quality of care for STEMI patients. Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital earned the award by meeting specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of STEMI patients by providing emergency procedures to re- establish blood flow to blocked arteries when needed. In addition, the American Heart Association recognized the hospital for achieving 85 percent or higher composite adherence to all Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Performance Achievement indicators for consecutive 12-month intervals and 65 percent adherence to Dual Antiplatelet prescription at discharge to improve the quality of care for NSTEMI patients. For both areas of achievement, eligible hospitals must have adhered to these measures at a set level for 12 consecutive months to receive this award. More than 987 hospitals and approximately 1,158 EMS agencies participate in the Mission: Lifeline program.  2017 marks the 10th Anniversary for the AHA’s Mission Lifeline program.  ACTION REGISTRY – GET WITH THE GUIDELINES – PLATINUM Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital is a recipient of the ACTION Registry® – GWTG™ Platinum Performance Achievement Award. The award recognizes premier participating hospitals that have sustained performance measure score composites of 90 percent or better in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction patients. PRESS GANEY PATIENT SATISFACTION GUARDIAN AWARD – HCAHPS Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital excels in patient satisfaction and again won top honors from Press Ganey Associates, Inc. for a sustained 95th percentile ranking, which is benchmarked nationally against approximately 1,800 hospitals. BEACON AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE A significant milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and a healthy work environment, the Beacon of Excellence Award recognized Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital unit caregivers who successfully improved patient outcomes and aligned practices with American Association of Critical-Care Nurses’ six standards for a healthy work environment. Units that achieve this designation meet national criteria consistent with Magnet Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and the National Quality Healthcare Award.
