Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital welcomed surveyors with The Joint Commission in early calendar year 2017 . The Joint Commission is an independent , not-for-profit organization accrediting and certifying more than 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States . As a result of the multi-day field review , in-depth auditing including interviews with leaders , staff , physicians , Board of Managers , and community leaders , The Joint Commission awarded re-certification to the hospital . The Joint Commission standards address the hospital ’ s level of performance in key functional areas , such as patient rights , patient treatment and infection control . The standards focus not only on the ability to provide safe , quality care , but on the actual performance metrics and the performance expectations for activities that affect the safety and quality of patient care . The survey process also includes a comprehensive review of environmental safety and the building maintenance program .
ACE-ACCREDITED FOR PCI AND CC
Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital has been fully accredited for percutaneous coronary intervention and cardiac catheterization by the Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence , an organization dedicated to ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards for cardiovascular and endovascular care . ACE accreditation involves a review of an organization ’ s structure , internal processes , patient safety practices , and clinical outcomes to determine if it meets the standards established by experts in cardiac and endovascular care .

Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital has been accredited in computed tomography ( CT ) by The American College of Radiology ( ACR ). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital ’ s commitment to providing the highest level of image quality and patient safety . It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field .
