Research and Innovation
Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart
and Vascular Hospital’s reputation
for excellence and leadership in
innovative care is firmly rooted in an
unwavering commitment to research.
The belief in the value of research
is a common bond that brings
physicians on the medical staff and
the residents and fellows that train
within our walls together to better
serve our patients.
Baylor is well-recognized for original
research in cardiac morphology, coronary
artery disease, heart failure, in vitro
diagnostics, and clinical strategies that
deliver advancements at the bedside
and in the clinic for our patients. Over
the years, patients at Baylor University
Medical Center at Dallas and Baylor Jack
and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular
Hospital have participated in thousands
of research studies and clinical trials
through the Baylor Heart and Vascular
Institute. The Institute was founded with
the goal of providing physicians on the
medical staff and their patients with the
expanded research opportunities and
an ongoing commitment to innovation
through evidence-based medicine.
Physicians and executive leadership
proudly point to important advancements
in medical management, minimally
invasive and complex surgical procedures
that have resulted from this focus on
research for cardiovascular patients.
They also acknowledge that research
will continue to be at the center of
ongoing efforts to improve the diagnosis,
treatment and care for patients with heart
and vascular disease.
