Through this collaborative effort , Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital ’ s clinical leadership operates the interventional cardiac services , electrophysiology services , heart catheterization and electrophysiology labs , including a hybrid procedural suite , as well as the non-invasive cardiology services . All of these services are located on the sixth floor of Building A at Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth , a 574- bed , fully accredited not-for-profit hospital with nearly 2,000 employees and more than 1,100 medical staff .
This effort brings together more than 102 years of historic heart care at Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth with the innovative and dedicated heart and vascular care provided at Baylor Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dallas . Together , now known as Baylor Heart and Vascular Services at Fort Worth , the cardiovascular services provided offer a broad array of interventional cardiac procedures and non-invasive diagnostic modalities .
Furthermore , with this collaborative relationship , patients gain greater access to cardiology research studies and clinical trials along with increased opportunities for collaboration between cardiologists on the two campuses . Cardiologists from the greater Tarrant County area have joined the medical staff to assist in the growth of heart care and provide direction for new programs and treatments .
More than $ 3.9 million dollars in capital was expended in fiscal year 2016 for upgrading cardiac care-related technology on the sixth floor .
Technologically-advanced equipment in the cardiac catheterization labs provides comprehensive interventional cardiovascular services for patients including percutaneous coronary interventions ( PCIs ) such as angioplasties and cardiac stent placements . Electrophysiology procedures such as ablations and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators occur as a part of the interventional services provided . Finished in late fiscal year 2016 , a new EP lab was completed which brings the total number of procedural labs to four .
Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth also expanded the diagnostic imaging for cardiovascular care , spending more than $ 2 million for a new 512-slice CT scanner located within the Baylor Scott & White – Fort Worth imaging suite .
