Integrity: Affiliation Cleveland Clinic’s Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart and Vascular Institute, named the number one heart hospital in the country for 21 years, recognized the quality of Baylor Scott & White through an alliance with three Baylor Scott & White Health hospitals. This alliance creates a unique and innovative collaboration involving academic, clinical and research components. Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, along with Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, now work closely with Cleveland Clinic’s heart program to share best practices and provide quality cardiovascular care to patients across the greater Texas and Oklahoma region. Together the three Baylor hospitals, through the Cleveland Clinic’s Cardiovascular Specialty Network, are the exclusive provider for Texas and Oklahoma cardiac patient referrals. Conducting ourselves in an ethical and respectful manner Servanthood: Serving with an attitude of unselfish concern Teamwork: Valuing each other while encouraging individual contribution and accountability Excellence: Delivering high quality care while striving for continuous improvement Innovation: Discovering new concepts and opportunities to advance our mission Stewardship: Managing resources entrusted to us in a responsible manner Circle of Care Our “Circle of Care” encompasses our mission, vision, and priorities, and places our patients front and center. Our mission supports this patient-centered approach. We recognize that there are four key areas of excellence that must be in place to make patients our number one priority: people, quality, service and fiscal stewardship. To do that, we support and care for patients as individuals. We promote a healing environment in which members of the health care team work together as one for the benefit of the patient. We adopt best practices and industry standards that support and sustain a patient-centered culture. During the strategic planning process, the leadership at Baylor Heart and Vascular Services at Dallas and Fort Worth uses the Circle of Care as a framework to identify the principal factors that will determine success relative to sustainability; taking into consideration the organization’s position in the marketplace and its competitors. 4
