COMPLEX FENESTRATED/BRANCHED
GRAFTS
Vascular surgeons on the medical staff at Baylor Hamilton
Heart and Vascular Hospital offer a specialized endovascular
procedure to patients who were not previously suitable for
endovascular management with conventional aortic stent
grafts. Physicians referring patients for this procedure
appreciate the value of patient care delivered by surgeons with
experience and access to innovative stent graft technology.
ENDOVASCULAR STENT GRAFTS
Physicians treating patients with
these conditions may need to be
aware of a patient’s risks for the
aorta to dilate or the potential for
life-threatening aortic dissection:
• Atherosclerosis (hardening of
the arteries)
• Hypertension (high blood
pressure)
• Genetic conditions (such as
Marfan Syndrome)
Recognized by US News & World
Report as a “High Performing Hospital”
for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
Repair (2016)
• Connective tissue disorders
(such as Ehler-Danlos
disorder, polychondritis,
scleroderma, osteogenesis
imperfecta, polycystic
kidney disease, and Turners
Syndrome)
• Injury
• Smoking
Endovascular
stent grafting has
become the most
frequently performed
treatment for
growing or large
AAA.
Aneurysm diagnoses (suspected non-emergent cases) can be
made through outpatient services available at Baylor Hamilton
Heart and Vascular Hospital or through Baylor University
Medical Center at Dallas including an arteriogram, CT Scan,
(computed tomography angiogram), echocardiogram, MRI,
and ultrasound. All of these diagnostic modalities are available
within the Baylor Heart and Vascular Services at Dallas
continuum of care.
In cases of Emergent Aortic Aneurysm: Call the
Baylor University Medical Center Patient Transfer
Center at 214.820.6444.
