Our Centre’s Philosophy
Guildford Grammar School Out of School Care Centre is a child focused
centre where:
• Children, families and staff are treated as equal and valued individuals.
• The importance of the National Quality Framework and MTOP
curriculum is recognised and used in the planning process to create
stimulating play.
• New crafts and sports opportunities are provided and participation
encouraged to enable children to challenge themselves within their
own capabilities.
• Children and parents are encouraged to share and participate in
decision making for all elements of the Centre.
• Children are encouraged to develop to their full potential within a safe,
caring and supportive environment.
• It is acknowledged that all children and families come from different
backgrounds with different values and beliefs with a wide range of
cultural diversity. These will be respected and incorporated into the
curriculum.
• The Centre promotes and encourages the children towards healthy
lifestyle choices.
• The Centre has a strong belief and practice of self-reflection to work
towards continuous improvement for children, families and staff.
• The Centre recognises and promotes sustainability and looks to
encourage children and families to be environmentally aware and
responsible.
