First Aid Staff
All staff employed at the Centre have a current St John
Applied First Aid Training Certificate and CPR qualification.
All permanent staff are Epi-Pen and Asthma trained. The Centre employs staff qualified in related fields to OSHC.
Casual staff employed are experienced with Primary School
children and either hold or are working towards holding
related qualifications. The Centre Coordinator manages the
day-to-day operation of the Centre and is the point of contact
for Pare nts/Carers. The Centre has appointed persons to act
in place of the Supervising Officer may she be absent for any
reason from the Centre.
Medication
Medication will only be administered by the Coordinator or
other Qualified Supervisor. This medication must be:
• Prescribed by a medical practitioner and have the original
label detailing the child’s name and required dosage.
• Authorised by the Parent/Carer if it is an over the counter
medicine.
• Accompanied by a Medication Form and signed by the
Parent/Guardian
Parent’s Participation
Medication is not to be left in a child’s bag. The Centre encourages parent participation in the operation
of the service. Feedback on the curriculum and program is
highly valued. We seek opportunities to gather feedback in
the form of surveys and questionnaires and welcome input
into the planning and evaluation of the service.
Sun Protection If Parents/Carers are not satisfied
The Centre is a SunSmart centre as recognised by The
Cancer Council. As such, there is a strict policy which is
adhered to. Children and staff must wear hats when outside.
Recommended hats are legionnaire, bucket or broad brimmed
(no baseball caps). A Cancer Council approved sunscreen
(everyday water resistant spf30+) will be applied before going
outside. If Parents/Carers are not satisfied with our choice of
sunscreen, they are welcome to supply their own for the child.
This personal sunscreen is to be clearly labelled. Please let us know if you are not satisfied with any aspect
of the services we provide. You may wish to discuss your
complaint or concern with the Coordinator. If you feel the
problem has not been resolved, you may take the matter to
the Head of the Preparatory School.
Any medication administered will be noted on a Medication
Administered Form as per the Medication Policy.
