andering Dew, Wandering Jew, Wandering Willy, Tradescantia it has a few names but all give the same results – an irritated,

inflamed, itchy dog! A noxious wandering creeper that grows everywhere – full sun, full shade it doesn’t care and will soon take over an area if it is left unchecked. A soft perennial groundcover with succulent like, creeping stems that root at all nodes touching the ground. The leaves are dark green in colour, shiny, smooth with slightly fleshy leaves. The flowers are formed by three white triangular petals that sit quite flat.

The problem with Wandering Dew is that it causes severe itchy rashes on dogs that have been in contact. And by contact I mean it doesn’t take much to cause a reaction - 5 seconds in wandering dew equates to about 5 days of itchy dog hell from my experiences!

This noxious weed is one of the reasons Eezapet was brought to the market. My poor girl Coco – the Eezapet mascot – would suffer terribly from any contact. Nothing I did would stop her itching – well nothing before Eezapet that is! It drove me nuts and drove her nuts too.

She would have welts under her arms and rashes on her undercarriage – quickly spread by her licking and scratching. Off to the vets we would go for the usual prescriptions that never kept it at bay.

The problem is Wandering Dew is everywhere and aptly named a vet’s best friend for obvious reasons!
