4 Benefits of Using Natural Skin Products

here’s a lot of choice available today when purchasing skin & beauty products. Your local

supermarkets & pharmacies stock thousands of products across hundreds of brands. On the surface this sounds great, but the reality is that these products are full of synthetic chemicals. Don’t get me wrong - synthetic chemicals aren’t necessarily automatically bad. Many have legitimate and beneficial uses. But why make things so complicated? The desire to look beautiful isn’t new, we humans have always been seeking ways to make ourselves more attractive. We’ve been using creams and beauty salves for thousands of years, and we did a pretty good job of it too! Here are 4 benefits of embracing nature and using natural beauty products.

Go Paraben Free

Large businesses have to allow for their product to be stored for months at a time in warehouses while been shipped around the world to

various retailers. Therefore they have to fill their product with parabens and other strong preservatives. There is evidence to suggest that these chemicals mimic our bodies’ natural hormonal systems, and can actually interfere with its natural functioning. The real danger is that the scientific community can’t conclusively state that parabens are safe. While large cosmetic companies insist that they are safe, other groups (who aren’t motivated to sell product containg parabens) are far more concerned about their use.

Avoid Irritation

The synthetic chemicals, artificial colours and fragrances, and fillers found in many products can cause

redness, irritation and other issues. People who suffer from ‘sensitive skin’ are talked about as if they have some sort of problem. While some people do have legitimate medical issues surrounding their sensitive skin, in most cases people are just using products that aren’t a good fit for them. For one reason or another, their skin just doesn’t appreciate all those chemicals. Switching to natural product means you’re less likely to experience these issues.
