The Latino Leadership & Policy Forum is
a 501c4 non-profit, non-partisan
organization focused on assisting and
supporting Latino and Latina leaders
who agree that economic growth and
opportunity are important to help
Californians succeed.
A Visit to THUMS Islands
On Saturday, June 17th, over two
dozen Latinos visited the THUMS
Islands in the Long Beach Harbor.
It was a unique opportunity for
community leaders and policy
makers to learn about important
energy and environmental issues
facing our state.
After a safety briefing, we took a
boat ride to Island White and
proceeded on a very fascinating
tour.
Later we lunched at the Hotel
Maya where we completed our
educational day with
presentations from the team at the
California Resources Corporation.
Assemblymen Rocky Chavez and
Dante Acosta addressed the
gathering and made some very
poignant remarks.
