Our Patch summer 2017 Unity Day on the march A display of unity U nity Day is back! Help celebrate the diversity of Hammersmith & Fulham and take a stand against racism on Sunday, June 11. As was the case last year, marchers will gather in Shepherds Bush Green before progressing down Goldhawk Road, through Hammersmith and into Ravenscourt Park, where the main gathering is held with entertainers and speeches. This year’s event features singers, dancers, circus acts and other entertainers who will be joined by speakers representing our richly varied community. There will be stalls selling food from all over the world, and the chance to find out more about the fantastic work of charities and groups across H&F. lbhf.gov.uk/unityday Ravenscourt Park pool Pooling resources Y ou don’t have to be a duck to enjoy paddling. Take off your socks, roll up your trousers and make the most of the pools in Ravenscourt Park and Chiswick’s Dukes Meadows. The shallow water pool at Dukes Meadows is surround- ed by a sloped picnic area, with the Meadows Cafe nearby for teas and coffees. The Shepherds Bush Comedy Festival will tickle the borough’s funny bone F rom June 1-4 the Bush Theatre is the place for chortles thanks to ventriloquist Nina Conti. Her act involves strapping a mask to someone in the audience and seeing where the interaction takes her. Best known for voicing her no- nonsense Scottish grandmother and a deadpan monkey called Monk, above, the comedian’s act is already sold out. But tickets are still available for stand-up sessions by Tim Key, Tom Allen, Joe Lycett, Spencer Jones and Nish Kumar – with most acts suitable for all age groups. On June 3 comic Gabby Best presents Comedy Yoga in the guise of a spoof fitness guru to the stars, performing a stretch class like no other.
