TRY FUN FOOD

said Matt , 43 , who added that a cashless restaurant also means no safe , no security , no till , no office overflowing with pieces of paper .
It also means the most senior staff member is not required to waste the last half-hour of every evening making little piles of coins on the counter .
“ At the end of the day , we tidy up and close the door behind us ,” he said .
Matt lives in nearby Hadyn Park Road , fulfilling – he says – the chief requirement for such a venture . “ Always open your first restaurant within five minutes of where you live .”
It means he knows the area , the customers and has an instinctive feel for what will work and what won ’ t .
I tried a couple of the most popular orders ; cheeseburger tacos , and sticky chicken tacos . The first is deconstructed into tasty ground beef , chopped onion , melted cheese , jalapenos , lettuce and chipotle mayo to create a winning balance of flavour and texture , then wrapped in a tortilla . It ’ s an idea pinched from a New York chef who nicked it from a cook in Mexico City .
The second is a fusion of Mexican and Korean ; the stickiness of the sweet and sour sauce balanced by crunchy carrot batons , spring onion and a splash of yoghurt .
It ’ s fast food , but it isn ’ t junk food ; it ’ s hearty , high-quality and immensely sociable , with sauces ranging from merely hot to outrageously fiery . Put out the flames with beer , their signature cocktails or straight-up tequila .
Meanwhile the vegetarian options are thoughtful – not token – and include a charred courgette taco with aioli ( a garlic and olive oil sauce that means business ). Killer Tomato is open Wed-Sun , noon- 10pm , a 10 % service charge is added , with every penny going directly to staff . www . killertomato . co . uk

When a remarkable piece of lost artwork was rediscovered at a Shepherds Bush primary school it provided a springboard for an artistic odyssey .

For three years Greenside School has built a graphic arts fair around the restoration of the acclaimed 1952 mural by Gordon Cullen .
Hidden away and forgotten , the glory of the painted wall has been recaptured , with the annual art fair devoted to 20th century posters , prints and designs proving an enduring and successful spin-off . On Sunday ( September 18 ), from noon to 5pm , the school in Westville Road hosts the fair , with top dealers selling books and prints . Designers , artists , illustrators , writers and printers will demonstrate their skills and there will be a vintage tea room and gin garden .
There will also be guided tours of the school – a modern classic designed by Erno Goldfinger in 1949 – and the famous mural .
The graphic arts fair is free , although donations are invited to the mural fund . The fair also includes prints of the Thames , jewellery making , watercolours and modernist lithographs . There will be a display of toys and a talk by Jane Audas . facebook . com / bouncingoffthewall
