ST PETER’S HARVESTIVAL
I
The rain couldn’t stop the fun or the smiles at this year’s festival.
While the seasonal food, ale and chat kept punters busy, organiser
Caroline Langton reports on a very healthy harvest for the church
t was a cruel twist that saw the
first real rain of autumn begin the
moment Harvestival opened on
Saturday (October 4), and then
stop just as quickly after we had
packed up for the day. Everyone and
everything was soaked through! But, as
the pictures show, lots of people came
out to celebrate the change in seasons
and smiled their way through the rain.
Even the Hammersmith Morris Men
(fortified by some excellent Fullers ale)
danced for us in the pouring rain and
led the parade of vegetables, flowers
and fruit up and round the straw bales
in Black Lion Lane. )=
