Healthy You:
It Takes
A Village
by Kim Jones,
Cary Medical Center
As Cary Medical Center’s director of Healthy You,
one of my favorite parts of this job is meeting all the
people who attend our classes, events, and activities.
Hardly a program goes by where I don’t get to make a
new acquaintance or re-connect with a familiar face.
What’s more is that participants often tell fascinating
personal stories and offer useful tips. This makes for
engaging conversation and a wonderful platform for
learning, both of which I appreciate and enjoy.
But there is a special group of people who I can say it
has been an absolute privilege to get to know since
Healthy You’s launch - a team of individuals who are
unwavering when it comes to helping improve the
wellbeing of our community. These people give
their time and expertise, share their energy and
enthusiasm, and just plain old work hard to ensure
that wellness education and activities are accessible
to everyone. They are the Healthy You Advisory
Committee (HYAC)…let me introduce you to this
impressive group.
