The latest additions to the Northern Maine
Community College campus are the Rodney Smith
Wellness Center and the Akeley Student Center. The
new facilities will be a gathering spot for students and
community members, encouraging both social interaction and wellness activities from basic cardio fitness
exercises to group exercise and nutrition classes. Commuter students will also have space in the student center
to do homework between classes and this will be a more
centralized location for many student services. This area
offers bright, natural lighting year round from the light
well connecting the Christie and Martin buildings.
