university, I came to realise that I was only ever happy
and engaged when working creatively. Positions that
allow creative expression however, are rare to find and
even harder to qualify for... so I made my own.”
Echo-Park Studios is a production company providing sound
and film services on a variety of platforms ranging from app
and game development to motion picture and music creation.
Our flagship service ‘ShadowHills Drum Tuition’ is set to launch
in summer 2017.
ShadowHills was an idea I had played around with in my head, but was only ever
a concept which I had never acted on, until I put together a working prototype
using After Effects for a second year pitch assessment. Only then did I realise the
potential the idea had! However it wasn’t until later when I pitched the same
idea in my final year ‘New Business Creation’ module that my lecturers also
realised the potential of the project. They put me in contact with the Scottish
Institute for Enterprise (SIE) and since then, with help from both University staff
and the Business Gateway, I’ve engaged in competitions and sought funding to
make this business a reality.
