In fact the bits that are supposed to frighten and shock can make you laugh and giggle. The possession of Janet is the most memorable moment of the film, as it had me and my friends in fits of laughter instead of being in terror. Even people who are easily scared would say that the horror here is tame and disappointing. However, the film is a well-told story and the audience do feel for Janet as she is shunned by her friends while dealing with unwanted media attention. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the very end. ‘The Conjuring 2’ will disappoint people who are looking to be scared witless for two hours as it relies too heavily on repetitive jump scares. That being said, the acting is excellent, especially by the young children in the cast. RRR It’s alright, but not as good as the first and a let-down for horror fans. Dan Bishop, aged 16.
