When it comes to organic fruit and wine , Johan Vineyards is the establishment to study . A model built upon the experience of Johan ’ s winemaker , Dan Rinke , the vineyard is certified organic and biodynamic ®. The philosophy of biodynamic farming is that one treats the whole farm as one living organism . “ The maintenance and development of the microbial life of the soil is a necessity ,” explains owner Dag Johan Sundby , a Norwegian transplant who fell in love with winemaking . “ I was introduced to Oregon Pinot Noir and realized that was what I wanted to do . So I started looking for properties and found this one in 2004 .” johan vineyards

Johan produces 2,500 cases per annum of 11 different wines , and they sell fruit to other organic wineries . “ The 85-acre vineyard is in a cooler area with shallow topsoil , but we have a deep clay layer that contains moisture , so once the roots set , we don ’ t have to irrigate anymore .” Additionally , the drier climate and winds keep the grapes dry which promotes disease eradication .

Faith Hope and Charity Vineyards and Event Center was born from the visions of Roger and Cindy . They have birthed the beginnings of a 315-acre resort in Terrebonne , Oregon nestled in a private 1,800 acre valley that will include a guest ranch and cottages , an amphitheater , a tournament ski lake , and many more attractions .
Current offerings include a beautiful 15-acre vineyard with wines available for tasting or purchase in the newly remodeled tasting room , which is open seven days a week . Check for ongoing entertainment and special events . Vacation rentals are available , as is a wedding event site that features master gardening landscaping and views of Smith Rock and the Three Sisters Mountains .
