W itness Tree Vineyard is named for an ancient oak tree, which towers over our 100-acre estate. This tree was used as a surveyor’s landmark in 1854, bearing witness to the northwest corner of Do¬nation Land Claim No. 51. Our par¬cel was originally granted to Claiborne C. Walker and his wife, early pioneers who arrived in covered wagons via the Oregon Trail. On July 8th, 2004 Wit¬ness Tree Vineyard celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the marking of the tree. Tree Vineyard wines are the ultimate expres¬sion of the earth from which they were born. They distinctly represent the Eola Hills wine-growing region of the north¬ern Willamette Valley of Oregon. Our site benefits from a southeasterly exposure, which allows the vineyard to warm early in the morning sun and stay warm all day. This fact, combined with a protective ridgeline to our west (the eastern edge of the Van Duzer Corridor), provides Witness Tree Vineyard with a remarkable wine-growing microclimate. As winegrowers, we believe that only by tending our own vines can we produce the finest wines. Therefore, we only use grapes grown in our 52 acres of vineyard. Low yields in all of our vineyard sites and minimal handling in the winery allow us to create wines of depth, elegance, con¬centration, and character. The winery is roughly an hour east of the Pacific Ocean. It is bordered on the west by the relatively low Coastal Range of Oregon and on the east by the Cascade Mountain Range. cubanisimo vineyards wild wines W hen it comes to Oregon viticulture, there’s nothing quite like Wild Wines, “We make organic and wildcrafted fruit, berry, and flower wines all harvested and grown locally. We gather many of our berries from the wild, grow some onsite, and purchase from local organic farms to produce the 12 varieties we have.” Some of the varieties offered are Dandelion, Peach, Blackberry, Elderberry, Ginger and Raspberry. 4550 Little Applegate Road • Ruch, Oregon 97530 541-899-1565 • www.enjoywildwines.com Open Friday through Sunday from 12 – 5 PM Since Wild Wines is fairly small and produces just 500 cases a year, they take care to oversee quality in every aspect of the winemaking process, from gathering wild berries, to fermenting, and bottling. “Since no fruits besides grapes contain enough sugar to ferment, we have to add it in the form of organic unrefined cane sugar. Our wines are fermented to dryness, and we choose not to add sulfites because we don’t feel that they are necessary to produce a shelf-stable wine that will be drunk within 5 years.” So when you want something truly unique, stop in at Wild Wines’ tasting room to sample the fare. 12 W elcome to Cubanisimo Vineyards in Salem, Oregon, located at 1754 Best Road Northwest. Our venture in the wine industry started with the purchase of a 21-acre parcel evaluated for its vineyard potential in 1986. We later planted 8 acres of Pinot Noir on our SE facing hillside as we further developed our estate property in the Willamette Valley. In 2003 we decided to forge ahead with Wine Maker Rob Stuart to produce our own wines under the Cubanisimo Vineyards label. At Cubanisimo Vineyards, we pride ourselves in our friendly and knowledgeable tasting room staff. From the very beginning we have committed to developing our wines into the top quality product meriting the name “Cubanisimo.” When you visit us, you will be greeted and offered a wine tasting that will include 4-7 wines.
