1. Forget the ‘Golden Triangle’
This once-lauded design concept was conceived back in the
’40s and is just not relevant to modern kitchens. Arranging
the kitchen in a way that meant the oven, fridge and sink
formed a perfect triangle made sense in a time when those
were the only appliances in the space. Today, however, with
our food processors, dishwashers and espresso machines,
it makes much more sense to break up your kitchen into
distinct zones keeping everything you need for each activity
such was cleaning, cooking and prepping grouped together.
2. Don’t underestimate the importance of ventilation
Often completely overlooked by homeowners fixing up
their kitchen – but do so at your peril! It doesn’t matter
how beautiful you make your new kitchen, how impressive
your new range is or how long you took picking out that
perfect shade of granite for the worktops – without decent
