The Avon Valley School & Performing Arts College Cambridge National in Health & Social Care C D C The Cambridge National qualification is available as an Award, Certificate and Diploma, (with the Certificate being the same value as a GCSE), and is assessed using internal and external assessment. The Certificate covers 4 units of study: 2 Mandatory units: R021 Essential values of care for use with individuals in care settings (external examination) R022 Communicating and working with individuals in a health, social care and early years setting 2 Optional units: There are 8 choices of optional units but we will study:   Understanding First Aid Procedures Understanding Life Stages The qualification is graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction, at Level 1 or Level 2. Careers for which this qualification is useful: any medical profession as long as you take an additional science: midwifery, physiotherapy, nurse, social care industry; prison, social services or working in the care industry, child care: nursery nurse and teaching. This is a vocational qualification which allows students to learn about real life work and jobs and to gain valuable insight into the world of work within the health and social care setting.
