Optimizing PV Systems July 2014 - Part 1: Inverters | Page 9

Advanced Energy Case Study: Clyo, Georgia The 23 KW AE 3TL was chosen because the inverter could be mounted to the posts under the solar modules without any additional support structure. The 33 inverters are connected to the Internet via a cell modem which reports to Advanced Energy’s free data monitoring site called AE SiteLink (formerly known as REFUlog). SiteLink monitoring solution offers a comprehensive suite of tools for system owners, installers, and financiers to monitor and maintain their PV assets and mazimize ROI. SiteLink is a free service available for all 3TL projects. Project Information Location: Installer: Inman Solar Commissioned: May 2014 Racking: RBI Racking Modules: Renesola 3200 of the 305W modules = 976,000 WDC 80 of the 300W modules = 24,000 WDC System Size: AE 3TL the 300W and 305W modules were connected to separate inverters to maximize energy output Clyo, Georgia 1 MW DC, 765.6 KW AC Inverters: 33 of the AE 23.3 KW 3TL-1kV This site has no concrete pads for equipment other than the Medium Voltage transformer. All of the power is sold back to Georgia Power under their Advanced Solar Initiative (ASI). The site utilized two different wattage modules from Renesola. By using the AE 3TL the 300W and 305W modules were connected to separate inverters to maximize energy output. Filling in with the 24KW of the 300W modules also allowed the site to maximize the 1 MW DC capacity under the Georgia Power ASI Program.
