Essilor Works To Raise Awareness Among Young And Old Claire (Quebec) and from July 11-14 in Langley (British Columbia). At the Pointe-Claire event, 133 athletes had an eye exam and 180 pairs of eyeglasses were distributed. In Langley, 165 pairs were made. Essilor International has been the worldwide, exclusive supplier of corrective lenses for the Opening Eyes program, created by the Special Olympics and the Lions Club, since 2002. Essilor Canada has become Silver National Sponsor of Optometry Giving Sight in 2013. The corporate missions of Optometry Giving Sight: Transforming lives through the gift of vision, and Essilor: Seeing the world better, create a natural synergy between the two organizations dedicated to ensure that each of us have the ability and access to better sight. We are very proud to have received, a World Sight Day Challenge GOLD AWARD. This was made possible because in addition to Essilor’s corporate contribution, on World Sight Day and during the month of October 2013, Essilor employees throughout Canada organized awareness and fundraising campaigns. Supporting employee’s involvement in the community Essilor Canada encourages and supports its employees’ implication in many causes, whether it be the Quebec sales teams implication with the MIRA Foundation, sales representatives from BC taking part in the Optometry Sun Run, or other teams and individuals involved in programs such as Run for the Cure or the “Canada Motorcycle Ride for DAD” .
