Q: Why do you think INVU has
become so successful within such
a short period of time?
Jerry Dreifuss: “Being able to start
with a blank piece of paper allowed us
to create a new brand, positioned to
perfectly satisfy both trade and customer’s needs. It is the combination
of product design, product quality,
lens performance, price positioning
and marketing that makes INVU
unique. During the last six months
we have done extensive retail testing
on sell-out and inventory rotation.
This has clearly shown us that INVU
is meeting a genuine market need
and that INVU truly is the next generation polarizing impulse brand."
Q: What exactly do you mean
when you say the “next generation
polarizing impulse brand?”
Jerry Dreifuss: “The market for
polarizing eyewear continues to grow
every year and consumers who have
experienced the benefits of a polarizing lens will never purchase non-polarized sunglasses again. Consumers
like things to be communicated in a
straight forward manner; the strategy
of many brands to include just a few
polarized variations in their portfolio
can be confusing for the consumer.
INVU – ultra polarized makes it easy
for the customer by having a brand
where all lenses are 100 per cent
polarized.”
Q: What are the quality features
of your ultra polarized lens?
Jerry Dreifuss: “All INVU products
feature the ultra polarized lens
which gives consumers crystal-clear,
glare-free vision with better colour
contrast, less eye fatigue, and
better perception of details. In addition, lens has a highly efficient UV
absorber that eliminates all harmful
UV-A and UV-B light all the way up
to 400 nanometers. The INVU ultra
polarized lens is manufactured in
a state-of-the-art optical manufacturing plant using multi-layer lens
technology and advanced coating
techniques.”
Q: What is the communication
concept of the INVU brand?
Jerry Dreifuss: “Explaining the
benefits of the ultra polarized lens to
consumers in a fun, straightforward
manner is the core of our communication concept. The new INVU
marketing campaign shows end-users
the unique benefits of the INVU ultra
polarized lens in a fresh and creative
way with lifestyle images and easy to
understand technical information.
The latest Swiss Eyewear Group
innovation, created to explain
polarization, is a LCD display that
shows a movie that is only visible
when viewed through polarizing
sunglasses.”
Q: What is next for Swiss
Eyewear Group?
Our first and foremost priority
is to further strengthen the INVU
brand and have INUV ultra \
polarized by Swiss Eyewear Group
become the number one polarizing
impulse brand for optical retailers
worldwide. We also want to continue to be highly innovative with
respect to design and technology.
Currently, the prestigious design
school (ECAL) in Lausanne
Switzerland is developing several
sunglass models together with our
Design Team. Furthermore, we are
creating new products that incorporate the world’s smallest UV
sensor together with Bitsplitters,
a spin-off from the ETH (Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology)
