VISION COUNCIL ANNOUNCES INDUCTEES
The Lab Division of The Vision Council
has named Dave Cole, former presi-
dent of Transitions Optical, as the
2018 recipient of its Directors’ Choice
Award, honouring his 26-plus years
in the optical industry, as a champion
for a game-changing technology and
as a partner to optical labs.
Established in 1987, the award honours
individuals and companies that have
made outstanding contributions to the
ophthalmic industry. The division has
also named its 2018 hall of fame inductees.
They are: Ronald F. Cooke, O.D.,
Diversified Ophthalmics, Inc.; Ralph
G. Kent Jr., Luzerne Optical Labora-
tories; Daniel C. Lundberg, Digital
Vision, Inc.; Mike Nathe, Essilor of
America; Richard C. Palmer, Practical
Engineering, Inc./Walman; Mike
Sutherlin, Sutherlin Optical; Michael
Walach, Quest Optical Specialty Lab;
and Dana Weeks, Optical Services
International.

CANADIAN DISTRIBUTION
Zowee Wow Distinctive Eyewear is
now the new distributor for the boutique
eyewear collection Roger Eye Design
in Canada.
“The people at Zowee Wow are like
family to work with and I am excited
they are going to be my distributor
in Canada and continuing on in the
USA,” says Roger Hoppenbrouwers,
designer of Roger Eye Design.
“We’ve proudly featured Roger Eye
Design, with vivid colors and European
styling since 2011 in the United
States along with our own collection
Rain City Eyewear which is designed
in Seattle, Washington. We are very
excited to have the opportunity to
work closely with our Canadian inde-
pendents” said Zowee Wow’s national
sales manager Mark Anderson.
