Rediscovering The Classics By Denis Langlois It has been said that a classic never gets old. That’s true in the eyewear industry as well. Numerous classic styles of frames have endured the test of time and continue to be popular. Cat-eye and upswept rectangle frames and oversized sunnies for women and square, round and aviator styles for men are among the looks that may never go out of fashion. They’re the kinds of specs that could be seen on fashion runways in the 1960s but are still on-trend today. Classic hues and shades like black, brown and silver have also maintained their popularity for generations. Titanium, stainless steel and acetate frames remain hot sellers as well. The Oxford dictionary defines classic as “judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind.” It further defines classic, when referring to garments or design, as “having a simple elegant style not greatly subject to changes in fashion.” Here are some classic frames that we’re admiring right now.
