OOA TO
CELEBRATE
70TH
ANNIVERSARY
AT INSIDE
OPTICS
The largest opticians show in Canada is just weeks
away. Inside Optics offers Opticians the chance to learn
about the latest products and technologies in the
optical industry.
Hosted by the (OOA), the event also provides an
opportunity for nine accredited and self-directed
CE hours.
This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the OOA.
The Ontario Opticians Association was first created
70 years ago and amalgamated with the Ontario Contact
Lens Association (OCLA) in the nineties.
The OOA promotes and protects the profession of
opticianry by representing Ontario opticians to government, industry and the public. The OOA also provides
continuing education in order to keep opticians up to
date on the latest trends in eye care. On the evening of
April 2, the OOA will host a 40s themed Gala Dinner
and guests are invited to dress the part. The event will
celebrate the history of Ontario opticianry and will
feature entertainment (swing band and dancers), a
champagne toast and a celebration of the 70th
anniversary of the organization.
On April 3, the annual professional learning day and
trade show provides Opticians a first hand look at
the tools and resources industry insiders and educators have to help provide eye care consumers with up
to date advice and the latest in products and services.
