OOA TO CELEBRATE 70TH ANNIVERSARY AT INSIDE OPTICS The largest opticians show in Canada is just weeks away. Inside Optics offers Opticians the chance to learn about the latest products and technologies in the optical industry. Hosted by the (OOA), the event also provides an opportunity for nine accredited and self-directed CE hours. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the OOA. The Ontario Opticians Association was first created 70 years ago and amalgamated with the Ontario Contact Lens Association (OCLA) in the nineties. The OOA promotes and protects the profession of opticianry by representing Ontario opticians to government, industry and the public. The OOA also provides continuing education in order to keep opticians up to date on the latest trends in eye care. On the evening of April 2, the OOA will host a 40s themed Gala Dinner and guests are invited to dress the part. The event will celebrate the history of Ontario opticianry and will feature entertainment (swing band and dancers), a champagne toast and a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the organization. On April 3, the annual professional learning day and trade show provides Opticians a first hand look at the tools and resources industry insiders and educators have to help provide eye care consumers with up to date advice and the latest in products and services. If you have not yet signed up for a booth, contact the OOA for more information or visit www.ontario-opticians.com. Attendee registration is now open.
