There is a new trend emerging in urban
real estate. I have become fascinated with
the price of homes, what we think we need,
how we are building and designing homes,
and the impact those decisions have on our
lives and families. I’ve noticed that people,
including us, tend to live their lives based
on the space they have rather than creating
the space to fit their lives. So we, as a
family, set out to explore this theory and
challenge ourselves to show what might be
possible.
What’s been the hardest part about
making that lifestyle change?
Getting rid of stuff. We have been working
on it for over a year now and we are not
done yet. It is a long process that is hugely
challenging. It’s not just about getting rid
of stuff. It’s a shift in how you live and how
much stuff you buy.
You have a lot of hands-on
experience renovating your own
homes. You spent seven years
renovating your last house and now
you’re completely gutting your new
