We also take you on the road, near and far, to fascinating seaside
destinations. Our artistic getaway to the Cowichan Malahat on
Vancouver Island is just a weekend and one tank of gas away. You
may already be familiar with the many murals of Chemainus, but did
you know that Cowichan Bay is home to a renowned international
artist? His Leadership Desk graces the BC Premier’s office and
his native pieces in gold leaf are treasured internationally. He is, of
course, Arthur Vickers. Traveling further to the Antilles, I share my
Dutch heritage with a small island paradise revealed in wonderful
fashion in “Aruba: A Caribbean Dutch Treat.”
Can passion go too far? That was a question our editorial team asked
our health and wellness writer. You can read her fascinating response
in “Misguided Passion: Are We Too Clean and Pure?” Our writer
reveals the useful benefits of bacteria and shows us the dos and
don’ts to achieve a proper balance to stay healthy. It might not seem
like a super-sexy topic, but it is vital.
Closer to home I’d like to confirm that our company’s vision and
passion have led the OpenRoad Auto Group to grow again. Porsche
Centre Langley is now open and off to an incredible start, and I am
also pleased to share with you our recent acquisition of The BMW
Store, MINI Yaletown and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Vancouver.
In this issue we also bring you up to date on the construction of
a new Jaguar and Land Rover development in The Langley Auto
Collection, Canada’s first all-luxury auto mall. Look for us to open
the doors to Jaguar and Land Rover later this year.
I’ve said before that I have three passions: my family, OpenRoad
and motorsport racing. Sprinkle in some great wine and food, and I
feel nourished in every way. So I hope you’ll find the passion in this
edition of our magazine just as nourishing.
Let me conclude by encouraging you to be passionate every day.
Truly passionate. If you truly are, I suspect the rest will take care of
itself.
