It’s a sunny and blustery day
in what is now a dusty old
cornfield. We have joined
an excited group of motor
racing enthusiasts and land
owners, the Osoyoos Indian
Band and Chief Clarence
Louie, on what will become
the home to Canada’s next
motor racing track. Area 27
will be a private motor racing
track, a country club of sorts
for motoring enthusiasts who
want a designated track to
push their cars to the limits
and a place to connect with
fellow members who share
a love of motor racing. For a
sizeable upfront membership
fee you can reserve a spot
as a charter member and be
guaranteed a certain number
of track days each year.
Behind the track are regional
motoring enthusiasts and an
icon well known to Canadian
racing, former Indianapolis
500 and F1 Drivers’ title
champion, Jacques Villeneuve.
