Why? Because he’s always on the move. The man has an impressive record in the dragon boat scene, and he carries a lot of weight on his shoulders on the job. Not only does Moe coach the corporate dragon boat team – OpenRoad Draggin’ Drive – he also heads the multiple development projects at OpenRoad. Overseeing all projects from concept to finish, he works with a large team of consultants, architects and constructors to make sure each new OpenRoad store is built to high expectations. If you’re looking for Moe, chances are you’ll find him visiting future OpenRoad sites, competing at international dragon boat races, working out at the gym, or running around the house with housework and his kids. We were able to track him down in between the craze to chat about his background in the sport of dragon boating and life at OpenRoad. When did you first get into dragon boating? I started dragon boating in 1992. The team I joined was the CIBC team, and we ended up winning the Rio Tinto Alcan tournament, so it was a good start for me. Yes! I still compete on a national level. The last race was the Club Crew World Championship Qualifier. Qualifying teams will get to race in Italy. (Wow! And how did that go?) It went well! We qualified, so we made the qualification to represent Canada in the championship race in Ravenna, Italy in September 2014. Both our men’s and women’s teams made it.
