One of the constant challenges in designing online classes is the creating of effective assignments, specifically writing assignments. Even though Moodle has over a dozen student activities, the reality is that we focus on three: forums, quizzes and assignments. Assignments can take many forms and they don't always have to be writing assignments. In fact, the assignment activity can be structured to accept any digital file, including documents, slide presentations, spreadsheets, multimedia files and more. However, written assignments are a staple and probably will be for a long time to come.
